Nuthatch With Your Tea?

Nuthatches and chickadees 

are two of my most-loved birds

I love their quickness 

and their antics

nuthatches especially make me laugh

their nasal call even makes me giggle at times

they both are so tiny

yet absolutely perfect!

While I was perusing

Yes Magazine online

I came across the most wonderful photo essay

written and photographed by Betty Udeson
a professional photo journalist
her photographs of birds on teacups and jugs
blew my mind
and totally inspired me
 I had to try it myself!

My Mother collects teacups 
this particular cup and saucer is one of my favourites

I took these photos
on Mother's Day
a day spent doing what I love to do
as you can see!
and my son even made crepes for my Mom and I!
The perfect gifts!

The chickadee and nuthatch
were the only birds
who were brave and adventurous enough
to try out this new addition
to their traditional feeding area!

Of course I'm going to have to try
other cups and saucers to check
which are their favourites
and to see if any other birds
will be bold enough
to join me for tea!
