Starling Murmuration

I spotted this murmuration
of starlings
on my way home from work one late afternoon

It was as if the sky was pulsing with black birds

pulsating, undulating, swelling

I loved to watch the birds' acrobatics
and how even though there were so many birds
they moved as if they were one
I wished that I had filmed
this wonderful phenomenon of nature
and felt blessed to witness it
